IDDSI: International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative
Hello,
With great interest and much review of the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative, IDDSI, the Blossom Foods team continues its commitment to both the consumer and healthcare facilities to help in the transition. We know it is a lot to understand and believe we can be of help to both. The IDDSI diet level guideline goal is to standardize textured meals.
Since 2008, Blossom Foods has created our menu items in Puree, Ground, and Soft Chop textures following the National Dysphagia Diet guidelines. Today, we continue to offer each of our menu items in these modified size/textures now IDDSI Level 4, 5, and 6 on the IDDSI program. We test each week using their guidelines to assure that we meet the criteria and to be able to offer as many options when it comes to menu planning as possible
See below for our current menu or ask your US Foods or Food Service of America (FSA) representative what they carry.
There will be many discussions surrounding the right "texture" or the "fork test" and we want to be part of that discussion!
Do not hesitate to give us a call! Enjoy, Sue
